    Shug;

    Hope you can make it !!

    Got plenty of xtra snow shoes, both tradtional and other for people to use.

    Don't go to the extra expense of buying if your not sure it's some thing you
    would like to do again.

    Don't worry about bringing 6-8 oz of white gas per day, thats why the gods
    made wood to burn. I'll bring large pot for making water.

    Lonely Raven;

    It's a done deal, one pair for Lonely Raven on reserve.

    I think you should bring those along because I'm sure Shug would use them.

    Hi Beep,

    Pencil me in as a "maybe". We ski/skate/shoe/slide/play outside all winter long, but always go back inside a hard structure at night. I have been diligently avoiding winter camping since my Army days, but a group hang might just be the kicker I need to sleep outside in January......

    If people would like I could set up a "warm tent" with wood stove so
    if people need a place to warm up and dry out gear they can.

    That way they can have a hot cup of cocoa, think about it and go back out and try it again !

    It's about learning, trying and doing.

    Fourdog, that's a HUGE offer! Many thanks. Perhaps we can see if it's needed based on who comes and where we decide to camp. It sounds REALLY tempting, enough so that I have a small concern that someone (me?) might take a "short cut" on my gear choices. Of course that would NEVER happen, right?

    Personally, I would consider that the same as backyard camping to test your set-ups...
    On that note, -10 to -30*F is SERIOUS stuff. Having a bail out plan for people might be a life saver.
    activity during the day will be required for heat generation...snowshoeing (even day hikes) will help generate heat and see the countryside.
    Oh, my gear considerations continue as I mull this trip!! I see some holes that need filled, but being able to say you managed this would be OUTSTANDING!
    and I long to see my northern friends again!!
