    Overnighter in Oxford

I just spent a night at one of the lakes near Ole Miss. It was a pretty good night. The temperature dropped to a comfortable 46*. I had a beaver walk right up to my feet, woke to some amazing colors, and about 4 or 5 deer watering down the lake from me. Unfortunately I couldn't get close enough to the deer to get a picture but one of them was a buck. I just don't know how big. Here are the pictures I did get.

Also...beavers in MS are a nuisance animal and need to be controlled...if you have a sportsmans license... then you can legally harvest that animal

I don't have a license and you're not allowed to have any kind of firearm on their property. That includes bows although you can have a knife. Also he's the only one I've ever seen there and he's not doing much harm. He's kind of fun to watch.

Great Pics. Are there good places to go around Sardis? Do you ever go to Wall Doxie? I've thought about giving them a try, but it been so long since I've been at either, I'm not sure what they're like anymore.

I haven't done a whole lot out there but I have camped at Wall Doxie and I like it. I was in a tent back when I camped there. It wasn't a very good campground for tents because it has so many trees. I think it would be good for hammocking though but I haven't been there in years so I can't remember a whole lot. My roommate and I recently went out to Clearcreek and we stayed in one of the primitive campsites there. We were the only ones there so it was pretty pleasant. As far as non-established sites I don't really know. I know you're not really supposed to camp anywhere except established campsites but I was told the officials usually look the other way, if they even find you, as long as you're not causing trouble. Here are a few pictures from the Clearcreek hang. Let me know when you go if you want a hang buddy. Depending on how school is going I may be able to go.
