I've got a full bugnet tube, and I love being able to get out from under covers on those warmer nights.
I agree with that for sure. Nothing worse than bugs buzzing around all night.

Looks like my HF subscriptions are working again! But for some reason, I can't find my recent post to this thread. Hopefully this doesn't come as a double post...

I finished my tulle fabric version of the HUG yesterday. Beyond the fabric, I also simplified the hardware by using the cord lock as the toggle and tying off the other end directly. I also skipped the edging.

The tulle was a little static charged and tougher to work with, bit it seems durable enough for many applications.

The weight, including all the hardware was 1.5 oz.

I could probably shave this down a little more since I think there is a little extra fabric at the end that could be trimmed and still apply a good seal. And if you eliminate most of the shock cord and attach directly to a ridgine, I don't see why this net could go less than an ounce.

With spring not far off, I am looking for an idea for a bug net. Trying to decide between this and a full length. So as I'm looking at the materials list, I see why the bugs can't get ya. With 3/4" shock cord, they sure can't lift it. Now that's heavy duty.

Thanks for the instructions. I just finished reading the full length bug net, and that's the one I'm going with.

dejoha, great idea. That just might be my weekend project. I will soon be needing a bug net for my Nano-7. As a graphic designer for the last 33 years I really appreciate your Illustrator work.

In a Gram-Weenie phase for an up-coming trip I crafted one of dejoha's Hug Bug-Net.
Mine weighs in at 3.3 ounces.
Seems like it closes well......looking forward to some slightly buggy time in the piney woods))))
