Thumbs up new stuff... Ogee tarp and Switchback Light Hiker !!

I went for a bike ride today and decided to bring along my new hammock and tarp for quick hang on my property outside of town. I am really liking the looks of the Ogee tarp and all its possibilities... can't wait to test it in the rain. The Switchback Light Hiker fits me great and I didn't want to get out once I settled in. I was able to quickly find sweet spots for laying on either my side or my back. I tested the Trangia stove with the Bushbuddy... it worked great except that when I needed to snuff it out with the snuffer lid, it just kept on going. Anyone experience this problem? I am looking forward to a much lighter/better solution for my Bushbuddy stove for when I need to use alcohol. I have tried just pouring alcohol in the bottom with nails for the pot support and air gap, but I didn't get good efficiency. I also tried out my new titanium lid for the Snow Peak 900 pot that was made by Four Dog Stoves... it's really nice. Enough said, here's pics.

Ok I see the pictures now. I've got to admire your gear selections! I have all the same equipment except for the Triangia. It is all top notch equipment. You might look at a mini atomic stove for use with your bush buddy. I use it with my mine and really like it's performance.

I have experienced the snuffer lid not putting the fire completely out on my Trangia stove also, but just simply blew the fire out...as I am sure you did also. We must remember that the snuffer lid is actually a simmer lid and doesn't always snuff the fire out completely, but it does reduce the flame to such a degree that it is a simple process to just give the small flame a quick puff of air and the flame is blown out completely. I have found this to be a minor issue when it does happen, and after years of faithful service I have just accepted it as one of the characteristics of the Trangia stove.

If you haven't used the simmer lid to slow cook than I would suggest that you give it a try....who knows? you just might like it. YMMV/HYOH

On that choice of tarps, I have bike camped also, and found that the Ogee tarp is small, lightweight, quickly set up, and offers many options for the user to explore and apply towards thier own situation.

Do you know if the Atomic (not mini) fits inside the Bushbuddy? My only issue with the mini-atomic is that it only burns for 10 min... I like to boil my cooking water then coffee water after, so I need a longer burn time for that. My pot is not large enough to handle water for both (I drink a lot of coffee). What do others do for coffee and cooking? I noticed that minibulldesign has the original Atomic with carbon felt now, so that interests me...

Love the look of that tarp!
Never had an issue with my Trangia NOT snuffing out...

I've also experienced the sniffer lid allowing flame to continue. Sometimes the Trangia is so hot blowing the flame out is not possible for me. I've learned that the lid must be dropped precisely and QUICKLY on the Trangia to extinguish the flame. If at first it does not succeed, lift lid with pot lifter and drop again.
