    Happy Hammock Halloween!

Not much of a costume...but at least it has something to do with hammocks.

Posted this picture on a different thread, but 'tis the season...

Report me to CPS if you must, but after telling various nephews, nieces, and even a couple of my very own children that it was not okay to beat on my set up with sticks, branches, and garden rakes, I felt it was time to use their disobedience as a teaching moment. Was planning on waiting for the first unlucky child to come within ten feet of the set up, run out and yell "WHO DARES APPROACH THE HAMMOCK OF DEATH!?", but the little offenders saw death enter, and so kept their distance. Lesson learned, I suppose, but can education truly take place in the absence of terrified screams? I just don't know...
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

I didn't dress up as anything, but my neighbors went all out.

They built half a UFO in their front yard, complete with flashing lights and a fog machine. One of them is an army captain, denying everything, one is the country housewife hosting an invasion party, and one is the alien, wearing a white fur coat, green goblin mask, and hot pink tights.

Quite impressive. I'll post pics when they show up on FB.
