CL singer with broken presser foot

So i found this singer machine on craigslist with a broken presser foot. Im contacting seller to check it out but im curious from those that have experience with these machines, how much of an issue will this be to replace? they did not post the model number but i am inquiring.

for $30 it seems worth checking out.
    ...in it for pics.

The model appears to be a 9008 from the pictures. If it is just the presser foot that's broken, a replacement could be had for probably 10 bucks. You should ask how and why the foot broke, and if anything else is damaged.

    um....
I knocked a machine off a table and it knocked a number of things out of whack internally.
Most machines have a variety of feet for different situations. Zipper feet, hemming feet, plain old feet. And you are right, it won't function without a foot in place. I mean, the motor will run and all but it won't sew and you won't be able to tell if it sews well until you get a foot on it.

    Googled it!!

They seem cheap enough...I'm kinda curious why the seller wouldn't replace the foot for 10-20 dollars and have it working again?

If the movers dropped it hard enough to break off a presser foot I will suspect the shaft is bent. The presser foot would be attached by a hard bracket rather than clip on as with more recent machines. It that is the case, there's more that needs to be replaced than the presser foot. This is a classic case of Craig's list being a very unreliable source. I would think $30 to probably $25 more than the machine is worth.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
