Bridge hammock only, what to add

Ok, so I am at a local outdoor company's annual clearance sale And come across a box that says hammocks $x0. So I pick it up to look at it and I see a pair of jacks looking back at me. So I buy it and bring it home.

I get it out and all that was there was the bugnet, ridge organizer and the hammock body.

I strung it between my hanging trees in the back yard and just used 2 wAter knots for the webbing. It was a little snug without spreaders.

Anywho, what else should I add to this to "complete" the setup??
What size tarp will cover this, I already have a superfly for the WBBB, would like to get one for this hammock as well, so I have 2 setups.

I may go back tomorrow and pick up a few more for Christmas gifts along with some tarps.

You can buy a "replacement" set of spreader bars from the jacks. Nice find!

I have a Warbonnet Big Mamajamba on it's way to my place.

I also have a very very customized one-off designed Bridge Hammock from Prof. Grizz. It is wider, deeper, longer, and has a higher bug net than any other bridge hammock out there (TTBOMK).

So, once the Big Mamajamba shows up, I will be throwing it up over my Grizz Bridge to see how it fits.

If it fits over mine, I know for 100% certainty that it will fit over yours. You could go that route rather than the WBSF and save yourself a few ounces.

I'll try to remember to update this post as soon as I get it. If I don't in the next few days, remind me too

I put this up real quick, Just threw in a Wallyworld blue pad in quick to give it some shape. I also just threw in trekking poles just to spread it for pics.

No need to pretty it up at all. That is the next piece of gear on my list to try. Black sure is purdy...

Edit - Sorry I forgot to answer your questions.
I have picked up 3-4 tarps and have taken them all out for a spin. I have a TTTG cat cut tarp that would cover any hammock. It is a large tarp and with the new beaks it will be a great winter option. Recently AHE put out the Shangri La tarp and it will also cover that hammock nicely, but would be more likely a 3S tarp. Hope this helps.

    Nice find!!

I have two of these hammocks and find them very comfortable and easy to set up.

I added the lightweight whoopee suspension system from JRB which works quite well. I find it quite easy to deploy although I use a marlin spike hitch with a toggle to attach the whoopee to the tree strap instead of the supplied Dutch Biner.

I saw Pan use the JRB 11x10 tarp at the MAHHA hang. The Baker Hut pitch worked quite well. I now own that same tarp but have only set it up to test. I have spent numerous nights in my BMBH under a Hennessey tarp of a similar size but have had issues with the bars rubbing against the tarp.

IMHO a set of bars from JRB and their 11x10 tarp might work out well for you. Suspension can be had from JRB or whoopiesling.com.

I set up the JRB 10' x 11' tarp in the baker hut arrangement in fair weather. The tarp is set high and wide to avoid the spreader bars hitting the tarp. I like that arrangement becase it lets have privacy on one side and a view on the other.

In rainy or winter weather, the tarp is set up with the short side as the ridgeline and the ends closed off. Similar to a scouts a-tent.

When in this foul weahter set-up, I add 4 glip clips and shockcord guylines to pull the sides away at the spreader bars. Saw that trick in one of Shrug's winter videos.

There are good photos of both set-ups on the JRB site.
    Love my JRB BMB

Good ideas, thx for sharing. I'll have to try the grip clip option.
