Intermediate hanging point

I think two oars are more then enough. Because it still needs to have at least one guy line, or some sort of top brace.

If two ski poles worked, then I'm guessing my three oar tripod would be ok. As long as the tripod itself is secure.

Align your tripod so that one leg is pointing at the hammock, and place it as close to the hammock as possible. It will be substantially more stable, and will put less strain on the guy line.

Thanks for the input everyone.
My oars are 9 ft. long, including the oar blades. I can detach the blades which would take them down to about 7 ft. which would be a good height for hammock hanging. I just need to find something to cover the ends of the oar shafts so that they don't get messed up by being in the dirt/sand/rock. I bet I can find something at good ole Home Depot????
I was wondering if the tripod alone would be stable enough to hold the hammock, but it sounds like a guy line is still needed. When we hang sun showers from the tripod the weight is pulling straight down, not to the side. Putting the hammock close to the tripod would probably exert a fair amount of downward pressure I'm guessing.
I'll report back when I try this in my backyard. I know...... pics or it didn't happen.
