    Sewing Machine HELP!!

Ok folks, I got the $54 Brother sewing machine out of the box, got it threaded and made a couple stuff sacks out of $1/yd 1.9 ripstop. Yay! Ok, now I have a problem. I went to start sewing yet another stuff sack and can't get the thread from the lower bobbin to catch with the thread from above to make a complete stitch. WTF? There is thread on both sides, no tangles, my upper tension is set on 5. Am I doing something wrong? I playwed with this for about 30 mins before turning to youy guys. Any suggestions? Serenity now!!

Open the bobbin cover and make sure the hook thing that goes around catches the bobbin thread. Hold the top needle thread when lowering the needle down and it should catch and then you pull the bobbin thread up with the top tread. At least that's how I do it on the Elna Supper.

on my machine I drop the full bobbin into the spot then I have to make sure the thread goes under a little clip near the front of the bobbin,
then pull the thread to the right. then close the plate and making sure the needle is threaded
turn your machine by hand while holding the bobbin thread, turn it one full revolution and the needle thread should pick up the bobbin thread. pull both threads to the back making sure the needle thread goes through the slot on the foot.

Thanks for the help, guys, I appreciate it. I pulled a stupid one on this. I was looking too hard at the gottom bobbin being the source of trouble and didn't even notice that the top wasn't retreaded correctly after I had to stop and rewind my bobbin. Knucklehead! Thanks again!!
