Making my down UQ. What keeps the pin-holes where I pinned darts, baffles, etc from causing problems with down leakage? Do I need to put seam seal or something on them?

Ithink you'll be fine, the holes aren't big enough, unless you used finishing nails as pins
i make down quilts on a daily basis and i have never had down try to get out a pin hole. The lower quality the down the more feathers it will have and the more likely a spine is to get out a tiny hole, but down clusters aren't going anywhere.
Use pins where needed and keep them out of the body area and all the pin holes will be on the edges and near the baffles but the majority of down will be in the middle of the baffles so the smallest amount of down will be looking to get out your holes which are too small for clusters and only an issue for feathers so if you have good down you have no problem. I use hammock gear down and have only seen 1 or 2 feathers in the pounds i have used.

Thanks for the response. I kind if thought that would be the answer. But . . .
That makes me wonder why all the fuss about "down-proof" fabric? Pin holes are much larger than the weave on any number of fabrics. Under this premise, given high quality down, are they not "down-proof" too?

PS. I'm using Hammock Gear down too. Good stuff.
downproof means 550 fill would poke holes all over (it still will get out some) as 550 is mostly feathers. Some fabric used to make the quilts and underquilts everyone here loves isn't classed as downproof but because of the relative lack of feathers this isn't an issue.
