    Ripstop or Tyvek top cover

I'm wanting to make a top cover for my bridge hammock. I cant seem to find any ripstop around 1.9oz. that is at least 66" wide. Anybody know of a source?
If not, I am also considering using Tyvek. http://cgi.ebay.com/Dupont-TYVEK-HOM...QQcmdZViewItem

personally, i would lean toward 1.1oz rip stop & just sew two pieces together w/ a seam if needed. but of course i'm thinking about the cheap stuff from walmart. if you're going to get it else where you can probably find it wide enough.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

you can rarely get it that wide, i think justjeff had some grey 1.1 that was 65-70" a few months ago.

Any opinions on the difference in warmth, if any, between using 1.9oz or 1.1oz as a top cover?

I think the 1.9 would be thicker, thus trapping more heat within.

    Here's an idea. Try silk.

Silk would probably be a great material for a top cover; it light and highly breathable. If you look at this site where I bought my 10mm silk to make a hammock, they have widths from 36" - 108" and everything in between. The only down side is that it comes in white, but you could always dye it.

As far as a top cover goes, it doesn't have to be ripstop. It can be almost any material that is breathable.
