In any forum I have been a part of the earliest timestamp gets the goods. Always a good idea to specify in the for sales thread to avoid confusion.
I usually request it be posted in the thread to be legit that way everyone can see and not get too excited if its already spoken for publicly. Just my .02, and thats about all its worth .02.

That sounds fair enough, it's probably up to the seller to decide whether a PM ten minutes before a post on the thread is more valid.
I'm not out to be awkward or cause a scene so I'll go with whatever MG decides.
As an aside, it's funny how different forums work, a lot of the ones I go on, most of the sales happen by PM. I think it's because the self confessing kit hoarders prefer it that way
