slap strap alternative?

hey yall, thanks for the replies and the advice! i'm starting to be glad i didn't get the slap straps, though i'm still a little worried about the security of the cinch straps.

Iafte, the model i have is the over-the-hull red 9' straps...

I wouldn't worry about it. They are made to tie down stuff alot heavier than you.
