I totally forgot to post this, and I just stumbled into this photo in my Facebook gallery.
I got a box of the Mule Tape that was for sale here, and it was mention that we should wash that mule tape. Since I'm all about stealth, I figured I'd go one step further and dye my mule tape after I washed it.
Here is the results of black RIT dye (liquid) mixed 3/1 with boiling water, stirred occasionally. Then washed with detergent and air dried. You'll notice a pice of 7/64 Amsteel in Silver for color comparison (sorry about the camera phone photo, I'm still slumming it and being lazy with my photography).
The color is a *very* nice silver, not as brown tinted as the photo shows. This stuff looks *great* now, and I hope to find a good use for it.
I just thought I'd share that with you all, in case you wanted to experiment with your own stash. I have some ideas of where I'm going to use this, but I'm waiting for a piece of hardware to arrive before I start designing.
