    Pack size - 1.0 vs 1.1

Is there much pack size difference between the 1.0 and 1.1 BB doubles ?

My 1.7 is pretty chunky and I'm looking to lose a bit of volume somewhere.

Why not go to a single layer Shewie? We don't get mozzies over here and you don't use a ccf pad do you?

I think I want to keep the second layer mate, sometimes in summer I just use a 3/4 Thermarest if I'm doing a sneaky overnighter and want to keep a small pack. The 1.1 grey is a bit close to the limit but I suppose the 1.7 would be okay.
For the same price and a lighter weight I'm seriously tempted by the coyote number, and it looks the mutts.

I doubt your going to see much difference between the 1.0 and 1.1 as far as compacted size. The bag that the 1.1 and 1.7 come in is the same size but the 1.1 has a lot more malleability in the pack.

You may want to re-think that assumption. I recently received a 1.0 double and have found I can keep my full length Thermarest pad in place much better with it on top of both layers instead of in between the two layers. When it was in between it kept slipping to one side. It seems to defy all logic but that's what worked best for me. It's also much easier to make minor adjustments when you are lying directly on it. When it's in between you pretty much have to exit the hammock to adjust it. I use a SPE with shoulder wings. I stuck the foot end directly in the foot box and achieved a really nice and secure diagonal lay.

BTW...I am really digging my 1.0....small and light!

PS What does "look the mutts" mean? I like it!

I have the 1.0 double and my husband has the 1.7 double. When I first unpacked them, the very first thing I noticed was that when they were in the shipping box, side by side, they look the same size. When I picked them both up, I could immediately tell which one was mine and which was my husband's by their weight!! Also, mine has a lot more air space inside the stuff sack, the stuff sacks seem to be the same size. I find that I'm able to pack mine inside my backpack and then adjust it to the shape I want it to be in the pack. The 1.7 is stuffed tighter inside it's sack and less able to fit around things in the backpack. I could make a smaller stuff sack for my 1.0 but I like being able to shape it to fit around whatever else I'm packing.
