I saw an interesting dessert in the last backpacker's that I wouldn't mind trying:
Banana Boats- banana's stuffed with graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate chips, wrapped in foil, and thrown on the fire for five minutes. I can bring all the fixin's for this if there are no objections.

Full facilities are out on this one. I say we keep everything kinda small since we are going to walk into camp, be it a short walk at that. I do have a spare gear guide tarp that I will put in the truck for a dinner cover. If we do any potluck I would highly recommend that the meals consist of easy to transport items. The lamb stew sounds very good to me as well as the dessert that Goblin wants to make. I was thinking of bringing in some corn on the cob and beef link sausages for the fire. We may make some stuffing in the 1.5L jetboil pot that I have as well. I am also very open to the resturaunt for dinner as well.

I was thinking of some Conecuh sausage would be good over the fire as well. All my experience for cook potluck style has been car camping, and not very portable, so I will be more than happy to bring any other suggestions if anyone wants. Anyone favor a particular sipping whiskey for after dinner drinks?

Roger that, keep it simple. I may end up pre-cooking the stew if we go that route, so we only have to reheat it and make the dumplings, which only take 15 minutes. As an alernative, the on the top of the mountain restaurant would be good for us too.

I am always up for a new desert! I am doing my first solobackpack the following weekend, so something new would be nice with me.

+1 on the singlemalt, or I like a good Irish whiskey, but I won't want more than a single glass, with a good homebrew sounds good to me!

I dont know anything about sipping whiskey but I'm a big fan of a classy classy beer. You may have heard of it - Pabst Blue Ribbon. It has a blue ribbon on the bottle so it obviously has won many awards

My plans have changed a little. I will be arriving on Friday but it will probably be 9 or so until I get there.
