Been lurking for a a couple of weeks and figured its time to say hello from Sarasota, Fl. Picked up a new ENO dn with slap strap pros about two weeks ago. Now the fun begins. I think I'll start with a new suspension.

Welcome Skeebo from another Floridian.
Hope to meet you at the HammmockForums group hang in January at Ocala Nat. Forest. Group hangs are a great place to share ideas and simply have a lot of fun. Oh, and set things on fire
Welcome to HF from Bama..........you have decided to take the first small step in modding your hammock but be careful it can lead to an addiction that many have succumb to and not been able to stop!!!!!!!! Nah, all kidding aside, if you can make it to a group hang I recommend that you go. It is a great place to meet people, see other modded hammocks and other hiking/camping gear.

I've read about the Fl hang at Ocala. Sounds like a good time and I'm interested. Not sure yet if I'm gonna make it but it's on my mind. Fire is always a good thing along with all the new gadgets and ideas I'll be exposed to.
I'm from Sarasota airport area, MCEMS. Been doing hammock stuff for about 2 years now and have kind of figured it out. any questions, look me up.
Welcome to the forum Skeebo. I'm also a Floridian, and I started out with the exact same setup as you. One suggestion I have is to get some new tree straps as well as the new suspension. You will notice that the slap straps actually stretch a lot which can really cause some trouble when setting up your hammock and trying to get the right sag. Thankfully I found this forum, and realized that there were other options out there. Without HF, I might never have realized the true joy of hammocks.
Enjoy yourself. There is seemingly unlimited amounts of information on this site (including suggestions of good places to get the tree straps as suggested above).
Welcome to HF!

Hey guys, thanks for the welcome.
As for the slap straps I only picked those up because I was going camping and diving at Ginnie Springs last weekend and wanted to use the new ENO hammock but didn't have time to order and take delivery of a different suspension. Not exactly sure what Ill get but I've been looking at the JRB complete suspension(and its on sale right now)as this seems pretty fool proof for a newbie and no fancy knots to screw up just yet. JKM, nice to hear of someone nearby. I'm sure Ill have questions at some point so keep an eye out.
Welcome to the forum! Good luck on the mods. Its only a matter of time you will own a hammock with a bugnet (or buying one)since we are down here in FL.
Welcome to HF!
