It's the DIY Gear Supply pattern but instead of rolled hems along the edges I sewed a half inch in down both sides (leaving openings at opposite ends for a pad) then flipped the material inside out and sewed a quarter of an inch in to go through all 4 layers. I have no idea what that seam is called. Almost a French. I don't care what it's called, I think it looks good.
Rolled up tight. Slightly smaller than I thought it would be with the heavier ripstop.
End channels of destiny (and opening for the pad)
I literally just got deja vu while pasting that link. Anyways...
Look at that cheap pad. Mighty warm, though.
Great Scott! Is that a Knotty Mod??!
Hopefully I will find a few spare moments this weekend to make a ridge line and hang it so I can start adjusting it. Then I need a bishop bag. And I need to make a tarp. And snake skins. And an underquilt. And a bugnet. And then multiply everything by 2 for my better half.
I have never stepped up to a sewing machine before tonight, and that stupid piece of machinery is pretty darn intimidating at first. I have to give oodles and oodles of credit to my mom. It was her machine and her tutelage that allowed me to do this.
Can you tell I'm proud of it? I haven't even hung the dumb thing yet!
