    My DIY Soft Shackle.

    I have attached a piece of string so it is easier to open the loop. Just pulling the string, and it opens.

    Cool. How did you attach it to the buried cord and what kind of string did you use. I have seen others do this but can't remember what they used.

    It is attached straight through.
    I use a backing line for fly fishing. It is very strong

    This may be a dumb question... but that's never stopped me before...

    I see how the string helps with opening up the Soft Shackle, but how do you close it?

    I hold the knot & slide my thumb & middle finger down the line towards the loop, with a bit of pressure. This milks (?) it closed.
