    Sawyer Camp Shake Down Hike

So, Wildman got his Molly MacPack in this week and wanted to try it out; he is a hiking noob. He also wanted to try a hammock for the first time. So I called Possum and we all met at Camp Sawyer on Georgetown Lake. He slept in a Hennessey Exped (modified), and we talked gear and philosophies all night and on Sunday morning. We had the MMG IX Universal underquilts as well. Gage wanted to try a TentCot, so Possum brought that as well, he kayaked in so could handle the load. Gage said he will keep using a hammock, but that the TentCot was a pretty cool piece of kit on its own. You gotta love a 7 year old that can make that distinction!

We also played with Wildman's new Kukri and, as you will see, it was a Molly MacPack Fest!

    Anyway, here are some shots:

You have to love Sawyer camp! The lake looks like it's up fairly good too.

Glad you'all had a great time ..... I've enjoyed many a fine evening camped in that same spot.

Yep, the lake is full and the water is in good condition; proly 5 feet visibility.

A lot of nice looking gear there. You've got that tarp dialed in perfectly. Hardly a wrinkle to be seen.

This is Possum's tarp, The Big MambaJamba with the door kit. Mine is the modified Baker's hut over the ENO, JRB 10 x 11. The wind was gusting 15-20 that night and he hates wind, I don't mind it so much with the MMG IX; it cuts it right away.
