My New BBO (Bear Burrito Oven)

My AHE BBO (Bear Burrito Oven) arrived yesterday and I just had to set it up this morning. In a word: awesome! This thing is really nice and warm too. I didn't realize just how warm until I hung under it for a few minutes and then started to climd out. As soon as I opened the zipper on my Blackbird, I felt the difference in air temp, and there was no wind blowing either.

I don't know that it rises to the level of "oven," it's more like a warmer, but I can understand why it's not called "Bear Burrito Warmer" if being sold on the Internet.

It also takes up next to no space and is light weight. It looks great too. I think I will leave it on my Bird throughout the winter. It just stuffs right in to my WBBB stuff sack with the hammock and suspension.

BTW, Paul's service is fantastic. He got right back to me with answers to pre-purchase questions, and I ordered it on Thursday and it was at my door Monday.

If you have a WBBB you should really consider this addition!

Thumbs up I like it too, +1

I've got two BBOs; -one in Digi-cam for my WBBB 1.1 and one in Coyote for m 1.0.

It's a great lightweight enhancement in case temps drop a bit more than expected.

Thanks for posting ... I too am considering a BBO for my WBBB. I am also looking at adding doors to my Warbonet Big Mamajamba ... there's another $150 for both ...

    Paul,
These BBO's look like an efficient way to boost winter comfort. I have to add one of these to my wish list!

What weight of nylon of you use or are the different patterns each come in a different weght?

They are all sold as 1.1, 30D ripstop but the coyote is a fraction of a fraction lighter fabric. Not really enough to be able to tell it is lighter but the feel is a little more silky than the camos. Other wise they all seem to speck out right about the same on my scale.

If using a BBO and an underquilt, is it recommended to attach the UQ beneath the BBO or between the BBO and hammock? I know it's one of those HYOH questions, but what's the general concensus?
