This night was particularly cold. We'd spent most that day replacing the rotting roofing, including the plywood decking you see here, om the Middle Settlement lean-to, in the Ha Da Ron Da Wilderness Area in the Adirondacks.
Cold? You bet. It was 8 below zero when we started the day and it was probably hovering right around there again when this picture was taken. The old roof decking was replaced with brand spanking new ship lap planks, and the old plywood decking got to serve its last duty as the Mother of All Fire Reflectors. They served this last duty admirably, keeping some tired and cold volunteers down right warm that night.
