Just set our tarps up with this method; man why did it take so long for us to do this?

Has anyone used this setup (or any other setup with hardware) on their cuben tarp using snakeskins for storage?

I just put these tensioners (modified with half inch key rings instead of the shock cord) on today and worried a little about the line locks and rings causing damage to the tarp. I also have mitten hooks on the door lines. The snakeskins are snug and then have to be folded and compressed to fit in the stuff sack.

I may just use continuous loops with prusiks larks headed to the tarp instead. Not as user friendly but gentler on my expensive shelter. Will probably eliminate the mitten hooks as well.

It just occurred to me that even eliminating my hardware I will still have all the plastic attachment points sewn to the tarp. Regardless, I think I would like larger skins so the rolled tarp would fold easier.

+1 on this question, I just set my cuben up a similar way (no shock cord tensioners) yesterday. Thanks.

I have had my cuben tarp rigged this way for a couple years now with no problems. I roll tarp to ridgeline, then pull snake skins over, stuff in sack. I also have mitten hooks on pull outs.

I'm glad to hear that Shotgunred! I really like the one handed all season adjustability without tying knots. I'm still gonna get some larger skins so it stuffs/folds a little easier but still deploys and comes down fast and easy.

I just replaced my prussic system with these. In case anyone is wondering, braided Mason line works great with the mini line locs. I got rid of the shock cord and replaced with a small continuous loop (cuben tarp). On my initial test everything worked perfectly and held snug. Best. System. Ever.

I got mine from Dutch. I spent the extra few cents and opted for the glow in the dark ones.
