    Working in the Great Outdoors.

Still new to the forums and wasn't sure where to post this, but....What does everyone do for a living? Is there anyone that gets to work in the great outdoors everyday? Wildlife tech/biology, land surveying, forestry, wilderness guide, fish and game warden, etc.?

My goal is to some day be able to work work in the places where i like to play...Just curious to see how you guys all feel about this, feedback on where to post/subject matter/anything else is always appreciated, thanks guys!

My degree was in Wildlife Biology.
My career has been in banking.

Just a means to an end, a job. My new life working for a consulting/software firm comes with a window view of the Colorado Rockies from the 9th floor. If I can't go play in the hills, at least I've got a good view of them between visits.

Not forestry, but I get to be outside.

I'm a field tech for a cell phone company and get to be outside everyday. Some sites are buildings, but in my area about 70 percent are outdoors. Lots of time to enjoy the outdoors when we are not in a rush to repair something. I hang a lot for my lunch hour when its a bit warmer.

For a chuckle, I had a woman walk by one of our cell towers and call the police because she thought a homeless man was living there....hahaha Don't know how all my test equipment and doors open didn't make her think about that one.

So is that a view of the Front Range or Coors Field - or are you lucky enough to have both.

I am in college for Wildlife Biology. Graduating next year. Hopefully I can score a job in the great outdoors in either conservation or land surveying.

Cannibal did you find the job market for WB extremely competitive? Is that why you went to banking, or was it just a first come first serve type thing? Or a needed to do type situation. Just curious cause I will be entering the job market in a year 1/2 and really want a WB job, its the reason I decided to go in to debt ya know.

I work in the DTC, south of downtown, so Coors Field is pretty much obscured by the downtown buildings. But Mt. Evans and Longs are both easily visible. My last office in Cherry Creek I could only see Longs, so this is a step up.

MBA that works in a cubicle with a window of a parking lot. drab I know. I washed cars for a living when I was in college so at one point I worked outside...didn't bother me a bit. Never got sick either.

Long story, but basically I did it for the Benjamins. I use said Benjamins to go play in the oceans and the woods and let other folks study them.

been a self employed web designer/graphic artist since 1995. I work in a finished room in my basement with no window The advantages are I can walk out in my nicely wooded property & test tarps or hammock anytime I want my breaks from work during the spring/summer/fall usually consist of enjoying yard work. So in relation to my job that is the closest I get to working in the great outdoors.

Otherwise when I am training with State Guard we do get to do some fun outdoor stuff

Construction Manager in the Environmental Engineering field. Get to spend most every day in the Great Outdoors (thank you, Lord). Although my employees and office staff would like to see me spend more time indoors (Fat Chance!). Still don't get to spend enough time in the "piny woods" in my hammock, but am working on remedying that in the near future.
I'm so out of shape ......I passed gas yesterday and pulled a muscle!
