Welcome. Most all of us started off on the ground. Then for various reasons, but mainly the lack of comfort. Finally found our way into the trees. Once you try it you will like it.

Hello and welcome, trust me you will start cheap but soon they will convince you to spend hundreds on your kit, run while you still have your wallet!
Anyway joking aside these guys are awesome and will help you get on (off?) your feet in the world of hammocking.
Cheers

Welcome to HF from Bama...........I would like to invite you to a gathering or hang we are putting together here in West Central Alabama. It is listed on the Forum as the Heart of Dixie Hang. It is a great way to see as well as tryout gear to get an idea of what you may want. We do not discreminate and will be more than willing to show you how to hang with the best of 'em!!!!!!!!

Welcome, welcome, welcome.
P'cola is near to my heart. Had a fraternity brother from Gulf Breeze and also spent three weeks on my sailboat in the inlet just as you come down to Pensacola Beach from the bridge. Is the "Sand Shaker" still at Pensacola Beach?
Sand Shaker is still here, but under new ownership. Big drug scandal a few years back.

I am also new to hammocks, but this is a really good place to meet people who know the right way to do this "Hanging" as they call it.
Welcome
