    Just took the WBBB Plunge

Ordered last night along with a Maccat deluxe. I can't wait for them to come in! I was fortunate enough to be able to try one - its amazing how comfortable they are.

Congrats. I just got a WBBB, and I've been using my MacCat Deluxe since September. I love the tarp. Haven't been able to hang in the Blackbird yet, but it looks awesome.

I notice that a lot of folks here buy WB hammocks but pair them with OES MacCat tarps. Is there something that you don't like about the Edge? I thought they were comparable tarps (though Edge is slightly bigger than MacCat Standard and slightly smaller than Mac Cat Deluxe). I'm happy with my Edge. Just wondering.

Ah never mind. Found a similar thread on this site's OES pages.

So what was the concensus? I'm in the market for a tarp.

    You'll enjoy your BB.

With regards to the tarp, both are great tarps and you can't go wrong with either of them IMO.

The only consensus seems to be, as Odds pointed out, that they are both good tarps and you can't go wrong getting either.

I've never seen an OES tarp so I have no point of comparison other than statistics of weight, coverage, and price. On that score I'd say WB Edge has the edge (sorry!) by $10 and a few inches and .2 ounces over the Standard.

The deciding issue for me was shipping cost. I was ordering a WB hammock and paying shipping and duty from the States, so getting 2 items from the same shop made sense.

Strangely, I've never heard anyone really talk up the Edge. The Superfly seems to take the spotlight. Just lately, it seems I read more about the Mamajamba. I guess it's one of those cyclical crowd behaviours that occur on forums. (Peter Pan mentioned this on another thread somewhere ("3/4 UQ vs. Full UQ"(?), about the "buzz" that is developed around certain products, that fades and returns...)

I'm happy with my Edge. I love that it is just enough and not too much.
