What hammock would you gift a new hanger?

Looking at the possibility of gifting a hammock to someone for Christmas this year. She mostly camps at places with a short hike in (1-3 Miles) so it would be nice if it was relatively light weight and it would also be nice if it was a "complete kit", being at least hammock + suspension.

The three most important factors are that I don't spend more than $100, it is SUPER easy to hang and that I can get it by christmas.

Knowing this, what would you get? I was looking at either an eno single nest with some sort of added suspension or a wb traveler

An Eno Hammock and suspension should be doable under 100$. You could get the hammock, then have Paul at Arrowhead Equipment make some Tree Hugger/Suspension from this stuff.

That would be a good setup without modifying anything.

How about Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter and Tree slings for $78 total. Speaking of "complete kit", I wouldn't consider it complete with a tarp. Hennessy has a non-asym diamond tarp for $30, so that would be close, but a little over your $100 limit. I assume insulation would be a pad.

I just ordered a couple Grand Trunk camo hammocks from Amazon for under 20 bucks each. I plan to put one in the white elephant gift exchange at work.

If it isn't going to arrive on time, you could always draw up a really cute coupon for the WB Traveler, that shows a cartoon rendering of your friend tucked in it. Kinda like the Flat Henry or something, with Santa flying overhead.

+1 one on that. It is pretty much the only hammock that has a decent suspension (webbing and cinch bucklers) included along with a ridgeline as a standard feature. Single and dual layer options too.

Granted getting it before Christmas at this point may be a challenge, although they are currently in stock at Warbonnet.

    Cheers
