Almost bought some grip clips. That might be my final out come. I thought I read some thing (BPL?) about using syl adhesive to glue at up out to a tarp??? You can get grip clips at JacksrBetter.
Another no sew solution if using silnylon is to sew the webbing tab to a 4" circle of silnylon and use non-diluted 100% silicone to "glue" the patch to the tarp where ever you want. I have used this on one of my first tents and it worked out great. There is no stitching to pull out or create a weak point and the silicone holds very well. If painted on smoothly the result isn't even too ugly. I recommend using some type of large circle around the patch to paint the silicone in like a template to keep the silicone that overlaps the patch and tent body in a circle shape, will look better that way.

I want to add some to my HH hex tarp, but can't decide where to put the pull out. Last weekend we went to Albert Mtn. and used buttons, with guyline to play with where to place the pull out. Haven't gotten exactly like I want it yet. As soon as Xmas bonus comes along plan on getting myself a MacCat delux for Christmas, and get Brian to add the pull outs.
Honestly, unless you go with Tim's method, I think the hardest part of all this, is how you get all that material under your sewing machine's arm without accidentally sewing your tarp in half!
I think shug eluded to this dilemma and I can tell you from first hand experiences, those circles are a challenge. Take your time.

I've used the Grip Clips from JRB. It's a pretty handy solution. Sometimes a tree limb just isn't available to accommodate a center tie-out, so I just leave the Grip Clips in te pack.
You could try doing a polygon of whatever number of sides you are willing to cut. After all, a circle is just an infinite number of straight lines! Furthermore, there is no way to truly sew a circle as every stitch is straight. Right? Sort of proves the tangent theory.
Just a thought.

no pics. did it a few years back and don't use that tent anymore. i will do the glue on pull-outs on my next tarp. It is easy and works great. If you were making your own sil you could glue them on with undiluted silicone before treating the tarp and they would look just like the rest of the tarp.
