I would have thought so, as long as they are positioned well enough so that the bottom one doesn't compress the one above it. It should be really snug.
I am trying two JRB MW3's layered together for a 20 degree hang tomorrow night. Pan advises hanging the outermost quilt low enough to not compress the quilt next to the hammock but not so low you get air gaps.Originally Posted by Sambeaux

I have use two UQ's (one 2/3's and one 3/4's) arranged to that they overlap each other lengthwise. I get full underside coverage and the flexibility to move them around for venting if required.

I have been using the no snievler and nest under quilts for my winter campouts for years. As long as they are setup correctly, I always stay toasty warm!
I've had the NS plus Nest into the 20s a few times...works great and isn't hard to set up.

I plan to experiment with stacking quilts this winter. I've done it some in the past out in the field. But I'm planning on doing it in the backyard and recording my results to see how low I can go with a more systematic approach.

Stacking them will certainly work and increase your loft and warmth, but you're always better off with a single underquilt that is rated for your expected temperature. Less weight, less bulk and less hassle to set up. I just gave you an excuse to buy another winter UQ. You're welcome.
