Welcome! I need to get down to them there Catskills one of these days but it's hard to pull me away from the Whites.
Welcome to HF! Catskill area is a great spot. If you're thinking about starting to get into cold weather hammocking you should check out the upcoming New Jersey Winter Hang thats going to happen in the end of January 2011.

Cold weather hammock camping is very doable if you prepare properly. Check around the forums here. You will find a wealth of information. On how to stay warm in a hammock.
