Hey, I just moved to the St. Paul area of Minnesota from West Palm Beach, Florida. I gave up the ocean for the wilderness and as of right now. I'm Loving it. I've been hiking quite a lot since I moved up here and was interested in doing multi-day hikes. I discovered this site from watching Shug's videos on youtube. I thought about using a tent while hiking, but after reading up on hammocks I say that using when is the best way to go!
Welcome to Minnesota! There's lot to explore, both on HF and in the state. My favorite multi-day hiking area is the Superior Hiking Trail. Looking forward to seeing you out there!

Thanks everyone for the welcome! Superior hiking trail is the place I'm planning on hiking as soon as it warms up some. The place looks awesome and I've been researching it heavily to get an idea on what kind of supplies I will need for a fun trip.

If you are just getting into camping, forget tents and get a hammock.
I won't tell you how many years I suffered on the ground until I found this forum.
