Here are a few pics of my first one. I intend to make a second one as well
depending on your design it can be used as TQ or your UQ. Have fun with it and be sure to take pics

I happen to be drawing out plans for a dual purpose 3 Season Karo TQ/UQ.
I was going to make it over this past week I was on vacation, but spent more time working on the house than at the thread injector.
This is a great thread with all the best Karo quilts in it! I hope my Silver/Blue one will add to it!
Will do. Am going to make a fabric and down order soon, I plan on getting my DIY on over the christmas break in preparation for the Ontario Winter Hang in February
Trying to figure out how to make the the Karo baffles for a differential underquilt. The horizontal ones would end up being trapazoids, 6" sewn to the outside shell, 5" to the inside shell... Thankgoodness I was blessed with good spacial relations...
I'm still confused about how the baffles are sewn to either side. I thought you would sew little strips of bugnetting in a square pattern, now I see what appears to be whole squares of baffle material being sewn. I'm just not understanding how these baffles are sewn to both sides from the pictures (sorry to be so dense). I love the quilts you folks have made, just need a clarification please.

I too was confused about how to attach the baffles, I was using 9' x 3'
parallel with the length and 8' x 3' parallel with the width.
I started by marking where I wanted them on the top and bottom with tailors
chalk or a thin sliver of soap then I cut some blue painters tape to size, 8' and 9' long and placed it 1/8" off the chalk mark. This was done because the
the chalk or soap will fade and I could leave the tape in place when sewing the baffle in. I also put corresponding numbers on the tape too be sure I was sewing the correct baffle.
I sewed all the baffles to one side then the other and that was the difficult part but just take your time and do it in rows or that is what I did. If you find a better way please share it
Thanks! That makes it a lot clearer to me. I have a few quilts to make for the winter, and I may make one of them like this. I really like the way these look!
