    Unless I am wrong though. the DD product is more akin to a snakeskin not a sock.

    That is correct...the DD version is what we normally call skins or tubes. I think the OP was asking about ones you sleep in, like a TravelPod.

    Oh my mistake I get confused with all the different names there are for things. I though socks where snake skins and what the OP is referring to was called a pea pod. I keep learning about a new piece of hammock gear everyday!

    haha...understand. A sock is like a peapod without insulation. And then MacEntyre came along and insulated the bottom of some of his socks!
