Cool Hiking Bear from Rochester NY, Do not need flat area to up a hammock!

I hiked the entire length Appalachian Trail during the six months in 2004 and finishing it up month and half in 2005. I am legally blind and hard of hearing (Usher Syndrome). For as many as four months my shelter was the Hennessy Hammock. The Ultralite Backpacker A-sym was home. Last year after I got a dog, well she thought it would be her toy, it is shredded. So, after that I got the Expedition Asym. I have Kelly Noah’ Tarp 12 to replace the Hennessy trap. Next summer I am planning to go for the Long Trail in Vermont. Trail name is Hiking Bear.

    Hikingbear:
Welcome to HF from Bama....................I am sorry to hear about the chew toy but glad you got a new hammock. I am looking forward to hearing all the stories that you have about your AT hike and any other trip reports you would like to share. As the others have said, you have found the best site and most generous group of people anywhere.
