FOUND - ultralight pack gossamer, golite, ULA

I am looking to upgrade from my 4.5lb pack to an ultralight pack. I'm leaning toward a Gossamer Gear G4. I've got my load down to 11lbs base minus the pack. I carry synthetic tq/uq so I need a big volume, light pack.

I'm looking for a new model in pretty good condition. My size with most packs is large/large. The models I'm looking for are:

    Gossamer Gear G4
    Gossamer Gear Mariposa Plus
    ULA OHM
    Golite Pinnacle
    SMD Startlight

If you have any of these packs in pretty good condition, please pm me with pics. Thanks all.

I don't have any of those, but I have an Osprey Exos 58, large, I'd be happy to let go of for a lowish price. The weight, if I remember correctly, is around 2 1/1 lbs? It is very lightly used, in excellent condition with one cosmetic flaw. I can take pictures tomorrow. Because of the flaw (which was there when I got it) I'm thinking $75-85.

I'm thinking of passing it on because it doesn't quite fit me.

    PM me if interested.

I made a G4 about 5 years ago------it has served me very well! I really like the big mesh pockets on the outside (I wouldnt own a pack that doesnt have them) One thing I didnt like, was the way the g4 is designed to put your sleeping mat on the outside, between your back and the pack. I got around that by simply putting the mat on the inside, (or not bringing one at all!) It carrys a load very comfortably up to the mid 20 lb range, after that it gets kind of uncomfortable. Its really light weight, but you need to handle it alittle different when you take it off/put it on(dont just sling it around, be careful when lifting etc.) Anyway, thats been my experiance with the G4. Good luck!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

I have a DIY G4 that I made thinking I would like a frameless pack. But it's too lightweight for me considering that for right now I still have to carry some of the kid's gear when we go out. So I ended up getting a framed pack that can carry a heavier load.

If you want to buy it, PM me. I get some pics of it later today after work to send you.

This was NOT my first DIY project, so you don't have to worry about the details or quality -- hence the trailname.

    Ringonu:
If you would like I have a Osprey Atmos 65 in black that I would be willing to part with for $125. I have had it for a year now, second owner, and it appears that I am getting a ULA for Christmas. It does have some trail smudges on it but there is no damage to the pack. I to carry synthetic TQ & UQ so I know about the storage issue.

The Atmos 65 is a little on the heavy side. I'm hoping for something around the 2lb range. Thanks for the response.

i use a golite pinnacle for 3season backpacking but it just doesnt have the room for the winter bulk imo.

Still have a baltoro Gregory I use for winter.

If you are gonna by a new pack I would go after a ULA or GG. I know I wish I did, instead I compromised on the price difference and went cheap.
