Well, now I have not tried IN the hammock, but I have done it numerous times in the tent. If it is cold or rainy, I would definitely stay under (or inside) the tarp if closed up in winter mode. Not sure I am brave enough to try it while still in the hammock.

    I enjoyed this discussion:

    www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=22869

The discussion is oriented more toward males answering nature's call in the middle of the night, but it's fun and informative to read.

All jokes aside, I'm not confident in my ability to properly execute that maneuver.
Yet another reason for a backyard hammock testing labratory. During my recent overnighter I used a Sunny Delight jug inside my hammock with no issues.

When I used to tent camp I didn't care how many beers I would have. Now that I have an elevated perspective I limit myself to just a few. Even then it increases how many times I get up to wee.

Anybody know why that one would have to get up and wee more often in a hammock than at home in a bed?

Somehow my friends never have to get up in the night and always make comments the next morning about how many times I get up.

As much of a PITA as it is to get in/out of a hennessey I take a 32oz gatoraid bottle for this purpose. Sometimes its not big enough......

I'm looking forward to having an open top hammock so I can get in and out without having to wrestle with my pads and insulation.

So many good replies on this thread. Most of the posts are good for a chuckle. Mostly because I relate to alot of the senarios.

Oddly enough, I tend to have to go at night more when camping then when Im at home in bed?!!?

And here I thought I was the only one with this problem...

Larger Tropicana OJ bottle (They have the wider mouth and hold more for those who need multiple trips!)

They come with a handle that is good to loop a strap through to hang on your suspension to find in the dark.

Also they are a white plastic, so it is not completely obvious to everyone else what you have in it.

On the down side, my son will not drink orange juice now if he sees it came from a Tropicana container!

I have heard that the urge to go at night is a response to cold spots. I have to admit, I go less during the night now that I'm using a proper underquilt.

i generally try to go over the railing and not in my boots

i dont trust myself with the maneuvers required to make it in the bottle and not in my hammock.
