It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
I just got done playing with one in the woods for the last week or so. It covers the BB just fine and I'd imagine it would work over most any hammock. The 'points' are more generous than I thought they would be.
I'm heading out of the mountains for home today. I'll get some pics posted tomorrow of the diamond tarp over my BB.
Trust nobody!
Oh yeah, it sure ain't summer up here right now.

Sorry for the delay in posting pics. I can't seem to get the pictures from the hike off the memory card of the camera. Meanwhile, these were taken prior to the hike right after I opened the USPS box. I got better at setting it as I used it, but even the first set wasn't tough and I got a pretty good pitch on the first try. Course, as you can see in the first pic, I had a friend holding down the tie-outs.
For what it is, I like it. I carried it last week on a winter hike up in Summit County and it did very well by me. I picked the wrong (or right) week to try taking a small tarp on a winter hike because the wind howled more than not. Even so, I was able to look for natural wind blocks and pick my alignment carefully and enjoyed a nice week away from it all. Luckily, if the temps dropped into single digits, they didn't stay there long.
So far, it seems to provide more than adequate coverage for such a small tarp. On most hammocks, there would be gobs of excess coverage. Over a Blackbird, it has plenty...instead of gobs.
Trust nobody!
Finding hard to resist,,,think i'll go eat something
