While not technically a hang or a camp here is a great chance to experience the Smokies in Winter when to crowds of tourist are gone. Rooms are cheap this time of year and all activities are free of charge including transportation to and from trailheads.
Wilderness Wildlife Week, the ultimate Smoky Mountain experience, is a series of activities sure to connect Pigeon Forge visitors with the wide, wonderful world of the great outdoors.
Visitors will enjoy more than 100 experts sharing their knowledge of the outdoors in more than 175 seminars, lectures and hands-on workshops. Get up close to nature with your choice of more than 50 guided walks and hikes. Music lovers will enjoy tunes performed by authentic Smoky Mountain musicians at AppalachiaFest.
Wilderness Wildlife Week offers activities for all ages and attracts thousands of nature lovers to Pigeon Forge each year. Oral History: Tape Your Favorite Pigeon Forge Memory: Please stop by room 101 at Music Road anytime between 10:30AM-4:00PM to share your most memorable Pigeon Forge experience of earlier times. The Pigeon Forge Library will compile these three to five minute stories into an oral history collection commemorating Pigeon Forge's Fiftieth Anniversary. Remember ordering a hamburger basket from Remacs, watching your first movie at the Midway , or your first hair cut at Tebo's barber. These are the memories that the library is searching for. Special Photo Exhibit: CELLO ROOM: Pigeon Forge Fifty Years of Progress: A wonderful & historic collections of photos that takes a look at Pigeon Forge's families, businesses, leaders and much more over the last fifty years. Also in the Vendor/Exhibitor Hall a unique display detailing Pigeon Forge's growth over the past fifty years as well.
HIKES: All hike & field trip sign ups will be held at the Holiday Inn Express across the street from Music Road Hotel & Convention Center. All sign ups will be held at 6:00 pm DAILY EXCEPT FOR SATURDAY 8th which will be 11:30AM Sunday 9th hike sign ups & 6:00PM Monday 10th hike sign ups. All will be held at Holiday Inn Express.
