Is this safe whipping?

He is using cotton material. I wonder if this will work with slippery nylon... will it hold? I have not seen this before.. thanx

I've used that whipping and it holds great if you hook your suspension line into the loop (the long end in the video, where it sticks out about a foot past the hammock). Otherwise, the loop can slip off of the the end.

I use that method with my amsteel whoopie slings, on all the hammocks I've made. Holds just fine. Just make sure you cinch everything down before sitting in it. Same as any knot, I guess.

I have made a couple like that for some of my nephews when
they have come over and want to sleep in a hommock.
Never used a sheet but a heaver type blanket.
