    http://www.theclymb.com/brand-event/134/Sierra-Designs-

I got some last time they came up, but my fiance missed out on the nice fuzzy ones. I think I'm gonna hook her up with a pair.

I know some of you mentioned missing the whole thing last time, well here it is! Invite below if you need it.

How are down booties used in camp? Just for in the hammock or can you walk around in them? How do they hold up to snow, mud, etc?

They are fine in the snow. I use them around the camp fire, and they have very mild traction. They have nice rubber coated loops on the back (to help you pull them on), so I hang them from a #2 S-biner on the ridge line as I get into the hammock.

I've not gotten mine muddy, but they handle the snow and slush well. The toes could use a little more insulation, but Sierra opted for some rubber on the toe vs insulation.

I did wear them in the hammock for the first time in my cold weather test #5 last night (below 7F), and they don't cut off the circulation, and did keep my feet warm inside my Winter Mamba.

Nice sale prices. But it can't beat the practically new pair I picked up for $5 at an estate sale.

    SD down booties

I have SD down booties. They are good insulators. I like getting out of my winter boots and into these as soon as possible.

I don't wear them in the hammock but I do bring plastic bags and rubber bands in case I need them in my sleep system. The bottoms do get dirty around camp.

They perform very well in dry, cold conditions after you have stomped down your camp (including the path to the latrine) and changed to dry socks .

I would not recommend them for wet snow nor for icy conditions. I am careful for embers from the fire melting them.
    Love my JRB BMB

    Thanks LR !!!!
I've been mulling over a down bootie purchase from REI for the last few days. This is a great price. Appreciate it. Only problem is that now I want a Black Rock down beanie to match. Will this shopping madness never end???

I opted out of getting a pair last time they had these at TheClymb and regretted it, so I got a pair this time. I almost went for the "mountain boot" since I like that it has a rubber sole, but went with the pull-over booties instead. I figure they will be nice for sleeping in, and I've heard a number of folks use them with overshoes (NEOS in particular) for very warm/waterproof camp footwear.

If nothing else, they'll be awesome for around the house, I always seem to have frozen toes

I bought the mountain boot the last time. Sierra screwed up the order. Took just over a month to recieve them. I hope their faster on your order. It's going to be a glorius Minnesota Frozen Butt Raven. See you in a month.
