Custom charges are ridiculous in the EU. Dutch customs charge 19% over price and postage cost! So hail to all you US suppliers who are willing to attach discounted bills to their packages.

call it 20% outrageous! doesn't seem right. I just got a jacket shipped in from the UK and I didn't pay anything extra as of yet. A few years ago I had a kayak shipped in from NZ and later on got a nasty surprise from the IRS.
That is a terrible blow you guys over there have to suffer.

Once I was out of the hammock in the morning it became clear there was a small half inch or so gap at the head end of the quilt allowing warm air to escape and cold air to blow in.

Edit: on closer look, it looks like the gap is at the foot end.
It looks like it needs to be cinched tighter on both ends to me. I cinch mine almost as far as they can be tightened. Also, tighten the suspension if cinching alone doesn't work by making a loop in the shockcord.

Nice. Would love to make a hang in the lands of my ancestors. When is SKAHOw?

The vultures demanded almost $200 for customs, tax etc.
But still I'm happy with the quilts

Agreed. I found the trick after taking the pics.
The pics were taken right after I hung the hammock and quilts.

Like your setup ! Paying an extra $200 really stinks though.
