Thumbs up Testing the new Winter Incubator & Burrow in the snow

After a long wait, I finally got my Winter Incubator and Winter Burrow today .

Danish customs got their creepy hands on the package, so I ended up having to wait even longer and then had to pay an insane fee to get it released from customs .

All the waiting time (and even the customs fee) was forgotten immediately when I opened the package and saw my quilts for the first time – Stormcrow really knows how to make cool gear!
I decided to do a quick test in the local snow covered woods and without pics it didn’t happen , so I managed to get a few shots. Please excuse the poor pic quality– I only had my cell phone with me .

Both quilts are of extremely high quality, and kept me nice and warm in temps just below 32 deg. I’ll have to experiment with the adjustment of the Incubator, but for a first try I’m really satisfied.

Like all other owners of Hammock Gear stuff, I won't hesitate to recommend buying their quilts - you won't regret it!

Talking My Winter Incubator arrived today

It's insanely well made. I already have a Winter Burrow so it's time to try 'em out!

We're getting similar temps here in Maine, light snowfall at the moment...

    Congrats!

Seems to be great stuff you´ve got there. Please inform us more about it when you´ve started to use it "for real". Sad you can´t join us at the SKAHOw but hopefully there will be more chances.

Looking forward to getting to test my new Winter Incubator out this weekend. Also received, in a trade earlier this year, a StormCrow 3-Season Burrow (prior to Hammock Gear...) that I am hoping the pair will keep me warm well into the low 20's.

Congrats on the new rig !

It looks to me like you might want to cinch up the head end of the underquilt a bit. It's possible the air gap will disappear when you lie down, but I just noticed the gap because I made the same mistake the first time I slept outside in mine. it was only about 40 degrees, but my back kept getting cold and I was trying to figure out what the heck was wrong. Once I was out of the hammock in the morning it became clear there was a small half inch or so gap at the head end of the quilt allowing warm air to escape and cold air to blow in.

Edit: on closer look, it looks like the gap is at the foot end.
