    Tarp tie out cord?

I feel very fortunate to have acquired a very lightly used ULTRALITE BACKPACKER A-SYM CLASSIC at a bargain price.

Only issue is that the tarp tie-out cords have been cut off.
I replaced them with 3/32" shock cord, but am wondering what kind of cord was there to begin with, and if I should use a less stretchy cord for the tarp.

    Any feedback is appreciated.

I use 1.75mm Zing-it for all tie-outs. And, if the tarp is silnylon, I tie a loop of 1/8" shock cord onto the tarp end of the tie-out. I make the loop using about 9" of shock cord tied wth a double fishermans knot.

As much as I like Hennesseys,

I hate the stock guylines that come stock. Wimpy, yangle-prone, difficult to un-knot. I have replaced mine with Kelty TripTease and am pleased.

I, too am using loops of shock cord as energy absorbers.

+1 on the triptease. What about those shroud lines from the chute you got a while back....Or is that kind of overkill?

The ULBA uses 1/8 shock cord for the hammock tie outs.

I haven't been able to bring myself to open the chute yet.
I know it will be uber cool and I'll want to spend too much time looking at every detail and thinking of what to do with all the parts.
I've been saving it for when I have a day or two off around xmas.
Although I may get impatient and open it sooner.
    Good idea, BTW.
