    laminate floor padding?

I know this has been talked about in the forums - can't find the threads right now..

curious if anyone has used this type of padding?
If so how did it work?
I have some left over from when I did my flooring
thinking it might work as an additional layer with UQ or perhaps by itself in warmer weather

That looks like PEF to me. I looked at some stuff at Lowe's, but it had plastic laminated to both sides of the foam. If you got it, use it!

It has definite possibilities. I've used some in the footbox of a top quilt to keep my heels warm. Also, there was a thread about a lattice woven pad using strips of ccf (cut up Walmart blue pad), and I tried weaving a pad using thinner materials - some of this underlayment, some reflectix, and some 1/8" evazote. It made a very flashy combination, and the flexibility of the separate strips allowed the pad to conform to the shape of the hammock somewhat (but not enough). I tried tapering the ends of the strips to give it more of a boat-like shape (sort of like putting darts in an underquilt). I'd like to get some more of this material to try some additional ideas.

    Acer/PF/MacG,
Do you think the plastic laminated to the Lowes material makes it too heavy for our purposes?

That looks like the same stuff I got from a TV package. Does it have any markings on it? The stuff I found has LDPE inked on it.

I have some that's .1" thick. It's too stiff to use as an UQ, like IX, but I have a piece I use on my tile floor as a sit/kneel pad. My daughter did a test where she hung in the backyard, using a piece as a pad. 1 layer, 50-degrees, and she was ok....

    I'm thinking I might use a double layer as a sit/leg pad...
