    These look interesting

Somebody on another forum just put a link up to these ...

    http://www.hammocksworld.co.uk/p/Sle...FQkf4QodGzqg1A

I don't think it's been done before has it ?

I like the concept but I can see a few issues with it ...

    • Not being able to remove the insulation for warmer months
    • Possible condensation issues with the waterproof underside

Very interesting! I don't know if this counts, but a few years ago when I took my Troop of Boy Scouts backpacking, one of the Scouts tied ropes to his sleeping bag and made it into a hammock. It worked, but ripped holes in his bag.

The other issue is that it forces you to sleep inline, which can be uncomfortable for some.

    Not a flexible unit.

I agree it would be a poor choice for summer (no netting either). A little heavy and no tarp. One of the things I like about what I'm learning about here is the different configurations you can apply to your situation, this seems kind of limited and boring. Also, if you damage the hammock, you lose the whole package.

Nice idea, but I'd rather see someone else risk it first.

Cost in USD would be around $200, and cotton/poly lining? What temp is -13c ? Would that come out to around 20f ? What's the weight rating? It does look interesting, gotta admit that. Gotta punch that back up and drool over it some more. Dang, that thing's purty! This is how reading HF gets expensive.

Maybe one of our Euro hanger members can get us some information on these sleeping bag hammocks. Looks like to me they would compress too much with a person inside to be comfortable to to the stated rating.

Add a hammock to Just Jeff's WarmHammock and you got the same thing. And I bet it doesn't weigh four and a half pounds!

Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
