It doesn't go all night, it was quiet at 3am when i woke up.

the guy in red/black looks pretty stealth - kinda ninja-ish
how did that clark NX250 hold up, what type of insulation do you and did you not use a tarp?
that ninja is "RIP WAVERLY", and he is quite ninja stealth-ish.
Tha clark held up well. The top zips up with its own tent like weather shield, so since we were not expecting any snow or rain (way too cold for rain), I didn't mess with the tarp.
I am going to buy down TQ and UQ from Hammock gear soon, but I just used a Ridge rest cc foam pad and a marmot trestles 15 degree synthetic unzipped underneath me, and a -20 degree big agnes bag as a top quilt. I wore under armor cold weather leggings, baffin insulated booties (not sure if they are down or not), a long sleeve bengals shirt (cotton) and a heavier weight cotton pull over shirt, under armor winter hat and under armor glove liners. I had more clothes available if I got cold, but didn't need them.
The thing I like about the clarks is that you are fully enclosed when zipped up, so the whole thing is warmer than the outside air. I had lots of ice crystals from my breathing on the under side. there was a noticable difference when i unzipped my cocoon in the morning, much warmer inside.
Wish I could've stayed the night. I had to leave just as the fire got ripping.
Had a great time meeting Papi, boiling water, and setting up.
I have to admit, I really enjoyed meeting Rip and Tendertoe, two really standup dudes. They educated me on everything from knot tying to tree distance for hanging, to the use of whoopie slings. Couldn't have asked for a better experience with meeting people from a message board like this.
For other ohio hangers, the place where we hung at wildcat was a hammockers dream. Lots of big solid pines, plenty of room to spread out, even had a fire ring where someone had made a survival lean-to. Only downside is you have to pack your water in, but it was only about a 10 minute hike in from the gated road.
Saw some hunters too, forgot ohio had an extended weekend deer season.
i concur- this forum is a great place to learn hmmk and backpackin skills, and make some hiking buds too.
we had a great time down at wildcat hollow. got papi hanging on some 7/64 whoopies. boy those clarks are nice too!
to all those ohio folk- or surrounding areas.. the one-off over-night'rs are great. a lot to learn. good practice setting up. alien stories.

Had I not been incapacitated (and I was glad for a flush toilet Sat nite!) I had planned on:
Hennessey Hex tarp
Clark NX-250
Hammock Gear 3-S Burrow (with an old Marmot Grouse bag if needed)
blue CCF foot pad
Reflectix rectangles cut to fit CJH pockets
Hammock Gear 3-S 3/4 Crowsnest
Would have been interesting to see what my comfort level would have been.
The Weather Cover of the CJH really does retain warmth - It migh have allowed me to get by with just the Burrow on top. I am not sure how much the Hex tarp would have helped, as it is open on the ends, but I imagine the pine plantation made for still air conditions. If you guys want to shoot for a January hang I will do my best to attend. I will have my Warbonnet Superfly by then. Another toy! And I plan on fabricating some form of insulated mini UQ for the foot section of the 250.

Jim, I know Rip, tendertoe and I are planning on going to the mt rogers hang the 3rd weekend in january. However, I have started a new business and depending on this contract I am working to take over, I may not be able to leave town on weekends for a few months. I will be working friday and saturday nights. As soon as I can train my wife to be the lead, then i will be able to play again on weekends.
Its a catch 22, I want to play at mt rogers, but my new business will require a bunch of weekends for a while. Business first, play after.
