We must have been uploading about the same time. Anyways, Is the site you're talkin about near the old schoolhouse?

if people want to camp closer to the trailhead, thats fine too. there's pines down below near the trailhead. Its up to y'all who are coming along. I am fine with either. I figure that if my 400lb arse can hike up the one hill, everyone should be able to make it. On sunday, you can hike the rest of the loop back to the car, encompasing all 5 miles.
Ok I just saw yer map I know that area. I'm kinda lackin in the top insulation but I might be able to swing it.

instead of going toward the old schoolhouse, hang a right down the forest service road (you'll see a silo looking thing and a gate. Hike down that road a half mile and the are pine forests on the left side of the trail/road. I figure whoever gets there first, pick out a nice site for us all. We probably will be the only ones out that weekend, weather could be interesting looking at the forecast. But we are still a week out. I hope we get snow.
mike, do you need a good sleeping bag? I can loan you one of mine to use as a top quilt.
If the weather gets gnarly, I am still going, just might park at gated service road instead of bottom. I drive a black 4 door jeep wrangler islander, so if you see it, you'll know I am prowling the hills. You can't miss me, I'm 6'5, 400#s. I leave giant footprints
lacking insulation? I am just bring 2 sleeping bags and a thermal space blanket. I have tons of ground camping gear, so if you need anything, holler.
Suddenly I have all sorts of info!
This os only about 2 hours from Saint Albans WV. Weather might be the determining factor (more for the drive than the hike). This sure is a tempting trip. I will start organizing gear this weekend in preparation.
Come on USPS! I need my Burrow!

Nah thats what I do is a bag as a topquilt just been puttin off winter hangin until I pick up a down topquilt. Would be a good chance to test things out in the cold like Rip said. Yer drivin my dream vehicle BTW, minus the second set of doors.
