    What's better?

I want to get the Warbonnet Blackbird 1.7 oz hammock and it has two options for suspension. I was wondering which one is better and more preferable to you guys. Either a Line/Strap suspension or adjustable webbing suspension? Thanks a lot!

I have the straps and love them. Very easy to set up and adjust.

Same here, the adjustable webbing is just so darn simple! But I'm always torn between the simplicity and the ease of adjustment in my whoopie slings. Its a toss up! but as far as stock Warbonnet suspension, definitely the adjustable webbing for me.

P.S. If you go adjustable webbing, Dutch Clips are awesome and weigh less than a Caribeaner.

There isn't a "better", just a preference. I like the ease of use that straps offer and they are my choice 9 times out of 10. But when grams matter, the line suspensions come out on top. Depends on what is important to you.

Get the straps and make yourself some Whoopies. I use the straps at home and switch to Whoopies when hiking--really only five minutes of work.

I use whoopies right now but have been thinking about switching back to straps bc they're a little quicker and more convenient, and not much bulkier and heavier. Have straps on my wife's hammock. Just a matter of preference, really.

It seems like the straps are the way to go. I am going to get that and then make myself some whoopies to use on the trails. It'll be great to have the straps as a back up too. Thanks a lot for all your help guys.

I agree. The straps are MUCH faster than the Whoopies (Yea, Whoopies aren't an option with the Warbonnet) But I'm after weight and SPACE savings, mostly space. By my measurements two Whoopies take up the space of one strap, saving the space of a strap. OR, about 1.5 - 2 candy bars.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

I use the adjustable webbing suspension with the magical Dutch Clips on all my hammocks. I am sure I might save few ounces going the other way but the adjustable webbing suspension is just so quick and easy.

I put my straps and buckles with a Dutch Clip back on for Minnesota winter camping.
Just a bit quicker .... and easier with gloves on.
