Where are people hanging for Memorial Day Weekend?

I'm heading to the Southfork Snake river in Idaho for a weekend float & relax with my rafting buddy and his dog. I have a picture in my head of which trees, in which camps, will be my hanging spots.

Have a fun & safe weekend everyone.

I'll be hanging atop Mt. Mitchell, NC, the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi. Leaving tomorrow! Will be climbing almost 4,000'. Today temps were in the 30s and felt like 28 up there!

Sjunkhatten National Park in Norway. Perfect weather is forecast with Temps between 45-52 Fahrenheit, partly cloudy and no wind. Hike in after work tomorrow. First overnight of the season. Oh yeah!

Tuckahoe State Park in Maryland. Not too exciting, but weather looks good.

Washington Crossing State Park. This is where George Washington crossed the Delaware River during the American Revolutionary War in 1776. There is a park, historic sites, and a camping area.

I heard GW slept in a hammock on the New Jersey side!

Bah, unfortunately I am chicken to be on the road over Memorial Day Weekend.
Kind of interesting, on tonight's talking heads, report the news anchor reported there were only two campsites still available in Oregon rhis Weekend. Not true I am sure. State camp grounds have some walk-up spots open on a first come first served, often for one night only. I am sure BLM, Forestry and all rhe rest of the smaller parks have sites available.

It seems like it is becoming more diffixult to find nonpopulated spots. Storm damage, clised roads, no parking... all are working against finding places to commune with the earth. I wish the media would stop encouraging the tender foot weekend campers to branch out. I wish all the new to the forest folks would know and understand how to be polite, thoughtful and caring for our environment.

Glad to hear you have a spot picked and plans. Be safe.
