Great job. Looks good. Yours looks like Risk's travelpod.

I'll agree with Youngblood that you need to make sure you have enough room underneath for uncompressed underquilts and maybe some hammock or suspension stretching...

    Looks great.

How did you attach the velcro to the hammock? Sew it on?

And where did you attach it? along the black strip for the zipper or directly to the side of the hammock?

    Mule,
    Looks great.
What are the dimensions of it? I want to make a hammock sock, but I don't want it to be too small (compress the loft) and I don't want it too small either (too much space to try to heat)

    Thanks,
    Cameron

The velcro is on the edges of the Claytor, the Snugfit and the Sock. It can be used as just a half sock by not zipping up the velcro over you, or you can velcro it to the same place the Snugfit goes if you devide the velcro beteen the Snugfit and the sock, but it is not necessary to do so. If you don't velcro the top of the sock shut, then it hangs loosely and covers the Snugfit completely. And yes the velcro is sewed on.

The dimensions are easy. They are 60 inches wide by eight feet. Just hem the edges, put in a tube for gathering the material one each end and attach loops and add bungie cord just like you would on a JRB quilt. It all works pretty well. So far I don't see the sock compressing the down on the Snugfit but just to sure I loosen the gathering at the ends when I am going to zip it shut with the velcro. Mule

Sounds like a plan! You'll enjoy the extra warmth. Now you just need to field test it many many times...

Oh, someone asked the weight of the sock, just weighed it at 9 ounces. Mule

It's looking to be as cold this weekend as it was at RRG Mule. We will definately get some good use out of our new socks. Thanks Headchange for bringing yours on that trip so I would make one.

You mean accordions don't do well in the cold? (and doesn't everyone just love a good yodeling campfire polka? Just kidding, btw)
